Använd inte en trigger för detta. De flesta av villkoren som du har kodat i de kapslade IF:erna (av din trigger) kan förmodligen göras via begränsningar för främmande nyckel och kontrollbegränsningar. Du behöver inte heller lagra 'X' för WOMAN_ACT någonstans, eftersom det är ett "härlett värde", dvs du kan få eller generera det när du frågar efter dina data. Kanske kan följande exempel (baserat på dina ursprungliga tabeller och data) hjälpa dig att hitta en lösning. Läs kommentarerna i koden.

Om du - som det står i din kommentar - måste lagra ett värde i kolumnen WOMAN_ACT (även om det tydligen är ett "derived value"), kan du skriva ett paket som innehåller procedurer för alla nödvändiga DML-operationer - fortfarande utan att använda en trigger. Men utan att känna till hela historien är det svårt att avgöra om detta skulle vara den bästa vägen framåt. Följande exempel använder ett litet paket som innehåller procedurer för att ställa in WOMAN_ACT-värden för tabellen PERSON och en trigger som aktiveras efter INSERTs/UPDATES (tabell:HISTORY_TRANSACTIONS).
